Course Aims
To equip supervisors to create & sustain an effective supervisory framework, which ensures safe, person centred delivery of safeguarding activities.

Identify & define the purpose of supervision, with particular reference to assessing risk in safeguarding work.

Apply a ‘Think Family’ approach to the supervisory process, ensuring a child focused approach as appropriate.

To provide a collaborative approach to learning & reflecting on practice to bring about new insights & learning.

Apply principles of adult learning to supervisory practice to strengthen reflective practice.

To understand the dynamics of how groups function & the stages they move through including power imbalance
effects.

How to deal with the challenges that can arise within group supervision & how to address them.
The supervision course will consist of a one day skills awareness and one day embedding structures and group facilitation skills.
