How do I train to a Level 5 in Safeguarding?
Designated professionals should attend a minimum of 24 hours of education, training and learning over a three-year period. This should include leadership, appraisal, supervision training and the context of other professionals work.

Course Content :
Day One
- Overview of Level 5 competencies and how these might apply in practice
- Introduction to their leadership role in safeguarding along with team working and networking, linked with advanced awareness of different specialities and professional roles
- Legislation to cover both national and international influences
- Policy development –linked to what would make it robust and development of local policy
Day Two
- Training needs analysis to focus on delivering on policy, procedure and evidence base to CCG’s and NHSE
- Strategic presentations focusing on to Board/CCG/CQC/NHSE
- Quality assurance processes linked to monitoring of services across healthcare through audit
- Clinical Governance and dealing with the Media
