Aims of the course
- To support staff (without a key role in PSIRF) to understand the PSIRF framework and to learn key concepts and terms involved in the new Patient Incident Response Framework.
- To ensure staff have an embedded understanding of the key principles of PSIRF, understand the differences from the previous model.
- To explore the opportunities for learning and improvement
- To think through and explore how your organisation can support and compassionately engage with patients, families and staff
- To explore how to create a culture of openness, listening and learning.
- To understand the benefits and potential challenges
Learning outcomes
- A broad understanding of the PSIRF framework – Participants will be able to describe the key components and principles of the framework.
- Participants will understand the context and have an overview of the objectives to support improved learning.
- Participants will understand the importance of engaging staff, patients and families in reviews processes and learning.
