Course Overview
Audience:
Tier 2 is for staff who have direct contact and/or provide care, support or interventions for individuals with a learning disability and/or autistic people.
Duration:
1 full day

Aim:
To equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to deliver safe, person-centred, and legally compliant care
2. Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Define learning disability and autism and understand key differences
- Recognise health inequalities and diagnostic overshadowing
- Apply reasonable adjustments in practice
- Communicate effectively using person-centred approaches
- Recognise and respond to distress and behaviour as communication
- Understand legal responsibilities (Mental Capacity, Equality legislation)
- Work collaboratively with families and carers
- Reflect on attitudes, values, and professional practice
