Course Objectives
To be able to identify service users with ADHD and gain an understanding of the different ways in which it can present. To understand some of the potential causes of ADHD
To describe the characteristics of ADHD and how they are used in diagnosis. To describe the risk factors and brain changes associated with ADHD.
To have an understanding of the different subtypes of ADHD and how they present (e.g. combined subtype, inattentive subtype and hyperactive-impulsive subtype).
To outline key approaches to managing ADHD, (including medication and dietary advice) with reference to their scientific evidence base.
